Week 4

Here I am in week 4 in my web design class. This week I learned how to create a slide with images. I did not use JavaScript or Flash. Everything was written in CSS for HTML. Before taking this class I took for granted how much thought goes into a sliding program. There are so many apps that make it extremely easy for me to click-drag and organize a collection of pictures. I can choose for the images to swipe horizontally or vertically to name a few options.

Putting together these images I had to be aware of the sizes, so the file would not be too big. I chose  pictures around 200 - 300 kb. I had to find the correct color palette for the text, so the user could easily read them. I was exposed to animation and paid attention to setting the percentages of the actual swipe. I set up the time in seconds that each image got to spend on the screen. I can not wait to continue to learn how to manipulate media because a website with moving images is more exciting than a static one.
